Everything you need to know about running Argus.

What is Argus?

Argus is a high-performance moderation and security bot for Discord. It provides real-time content filtering, anti-evasion technology, and automated punishments to keep your community safe.

How do I set up Argus?

After inviting the bot, use the /setup command. Argus will create two private channels: #argus-terminal for configuration and #argus-logs for security activity. All management happens through these private channels or the web dashboard.

Is there a web dashboard?

Yes — manage your server settings at superbot.click/Argus/login. It provides an interface for configuring all security modules and viewing moderation history.

Does Argus store my messages?

No. Argus processes messages in real-time within volatile memory (RAM). Once scanned, the message content is discarded. We only store necessary metadata like Guild/User IDs for configuration and moderation tracking.

How does the link filter work?

Argus integrates with the Google Safe Browsing API. When a user sends a link, Argus checks it against a global database of known phishing, malware, and scam sites before users have a chance to click it.

What can the Auto-Mod do?

The Auto-Mod detects spam, flood, excessive capitalization, mass mentions, and walls of text. You can customize the punishment for each rule, ranging from a simple deletion to an automated timeout or ban.

What does the AI filter actually do?

Instead of matching banned words, the Context-Aware filter scores how hostile a message is from 0 to 100 — taking into account whether it is aimed at a person, whether the author tried to disguise it, and whether they have been escalating. It reads 28 languages and is off by default. A dry-run mode and a live tester in the dashboard let you see what it would flag before it acts.

Does anything get sent to an AI provider?

No. Both the AI filter and the NSFW image classifier run locally on the bot's own hardware. No message, image, or attachment leaves for an external AI or moderation service — only URLs are checked, against Google Safe Browsing.

Do warnings expire?

They can. Turn on warning decay and only warnings from the last N days count toward your punishment thresholds, so an old infraction doesn't sit forever on a member's record. Nothing is deleted — /history still shows everything, decay only changes what counts.

What happens if Argus goes down?

Argus runs on more than one server. If the active one fails, a standby takes over automatically within about a minute, and raid lockdowns are re-applied on recovery. Per-server uptime for the last 90 days is published on the status page.

What is the "Private Terminal"?

The Private Terminal is an interactive message in your #argus-terminal channel. It lets you toggle filters and adjust settings using Discord buttons — a staff-only command center that doesn't clutter public channels.
